Many Ways to Give the Gift of Safety

Kidpower is a charitable organization. Our work is only possible because of the contributions of people like you who choose to give their resources of time, money, and relationships to help Kidpower help others.

There are many ways to make a difference. You can ask that birthday or holiday gifts go to Kidpower in your honor, buy books or workshops for others, organize services, provide the use of free space, ask your employer to contribute, recommend Kidpower to your friends as an important charity to support, donate your vehicle, donate stock, give in memory or honor of someone important to you, become an instructor, or volunteer to help with different projects. In the US, all financial donations are tax-deductible.

Scroll down to see some of the different ways you can help financially to support Kidpower’s work in creating safer kids, families, schools, and communities:

Cash Donations

Every dollar you give helps Kidpower  to cover the cost of providing our services. You can give to where it is needed most or designate your donation for a specific project:

  • Donate on-line through our secure giving site on Network for Good.
  • By mail – mail a check made out to Kidpower to P.O. Box 1212 Santa Cruz, CA 95061

Ask for Donations for Your Birthday, Holiday, or Wedding Gifts

Do you feel as if you have enough stuff? One creative way to help Kidpower is to ask family and friends to make donations to us in lieu of birthday, holiday, or wedding gifts. We will send them as well as you a personal acknowledgement by email or, if you prefer, by regular mail.

Include Kidpower as a Beneficiary of Your Bequest, IRA, Life Insurance, or Trust

Please include Kidpower in your estate planning. California attorney Deborah A. Malkin has offered to donate FREE estate planning services to anyone in California who is willing to leave a gift of $5,000 or more to Kidpower in their will. Ms. Malkin is a certified specialist in estate planning, trusts, and probate and is certified by the California State Bar Association. What she does for you will be fully confidential. For more information, please call her office at (831) 462-9100.

Buy a safety book for a friend, family member, or school

All proceeds from sale of our books help to support the publication expenses and the cost of our services. People find our publications to be entertaining and practical tools that help them to understand Kidpower skills and to teach them to the young people in their lives. There are lots of choices to fit your budget in our  Kidpower Bookstore.

Company Partnerships

From sponsoring events to organizing workshops, there are lots of ways for your business or employer to be involved:

  • Endorsement: Find out if your company has a charitable giving program. Ask that Kidpower be considered for a corporate contribution.
  • Sponsorship:  Sponsor workshops for your employees or your community.
  • Workplace giving: Along with payroll deduction giving through United Way and other such entities, many employers match charitable gifts that their employees give, or invite charities to speak to employees on site.
  • Holiday parties: Instead of traditional gifts, ask everyone to give the gift of safety by making a donation to Kidpower.
  • Marathons: Most running, swimming, walking, or biking marathons accept entries from teams running together for charity—could your employees and colleagues become a team to support Kidpower?
