Chesapeake & Potomac Kidpower
The instructors at the Chesapeake and Potomac Kidpower Center will travel to your group to provide workshops and training for children and adults, parents and caregivers. Currently our center offers everyday skills workshops for all ages as well as parent/caregiver education. Kim Leisey, the Chesapeake and Potomac center director, has been associated with Kidpower for 13 years and is currently a Kidpower board member. Kim has her doctorate in Human Development and her research interests include violence prevention. The Chesapeake and Potomac Center also provides Collegepower, a safety skills program for college students.
"The content of the program is appropriate for the children's developmental level as well as for the amount of independence the kids were given at their age. It was never "scary" and the kids always felt comfortable. The workshops we selected were parent/child workshops, so the kids and parents could practice the skills and talk about what was learned after the workshop was over."
