Kidpower India
Kidpower India was established by Dr. Vempadapu Venkata Ramana. Dr. Ramana, who is internationally known as an advocate for children's rights, went to a conference in Montreal , Canada , in 2005 sponsored by Kidpower Teenpower Fullpower International. He was impressed by the effectiveness of the Kidpower method in teaching people of all ages, abilities, and cultures to protect their human rights and decided to bring these services to India. Currently the Kidpower India Team consists of 2 people who are both setting up the organization as well as working as certified trainers: Praveen Vempadapu and Phaedra Veenendaal Vempadapu. They both hold double Masters Degrees: a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) as well as a Masters in Development Studies. In the USA they have been trained how to conduct workshops effectively and work with children as well as teens and adults. They see Kidpower as a unique opportunity to make a difference and work for positive social change. In 2008, Kidpower India team conducted 11 kidpower workshops. Kidpower India website >
