In this kid-friendly workshop, we will play games, do improv role plays and engage in empowerment activities suitable for the whole family as well as for people wanting to increase their improv skills. Activities will include improv games, skits, fun ice-breaker games, social stories activities, the Kidpower wheel of choice game, and other interactive activities to have fun, build community, and develop skills.

  • Connecting the Dots: How does Kidpower as a Prevention/Intervention Model Helps to Build ResilienceJan Isaacs Henry and Meredith Henry, Kidpower Colorado

This session will look at the impact of trauma (adverse childhood experiences – ACEs) on children’s emotional and physical health.  We will address how new science is driving a movement to protect children from the damaging effects of toxic stress. We will then connect the dots to identify how Kidpower already helps to build resilience and how we can continue to be trauma sensitive. Jan Isaacs Henry, former psychotherapist with an area of specialty of working with survivors of trauma, Kidpower Colorado Center Director/Co-Founder, Kidpower International Senior Program Leader Meredith Henry, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Mental Health Lead for a school district in Denver, Colorado.
