Workshops for All Ages
In-person workshops for all ages are paused for the pandemic and will resume as soon as it’s safe. Our standard in-person workshops are described below. Given the success of our online workshops, they will continue even when in-person services return.
Professionals learn how to incorporate Kidpower skills and methodology into their standard practices in educational, health, and social service agencies in order to foster positive social safety skill development. Workshops are coordinated by individual schools/agencies, for their own staff at their own site, and are tailored to the specific contexts of the participants, ranging from teachers to shelter staff to occupational therapists to camp counselors to coaches.
In addition, Kidpower also sponsors two types of intensive training open to individual adult applicants:
- Kidpower Online Child Protection Institute offers a unique opportunity for adults to learn to use Kidpower’s prevention, advocacy, intervention, and personal safety strategies and skills to take charge of the safety and well-being of the children and teens in their personal and professional lives. Our In-Person Institutes welcome participants from around the world! Our In-Person Institutes are paused until 2021; Learn more about our Online Institute!
- [Paused until 2021] Kidpower Instructor Certification and Core Skills Training (CST) – This program is primarily for people who want to become certified as Kidpower Teenpower Fullpower International instructors and also for people who want to audit the program to use in their personal and professional lives without becoming certified. Once we resume in-person trainings, we will open the application process.

Comments from Workshop Organizers
By organizing the Teenpower class, we were able to make this experience happen not only for our daughter but also for so many of her friends. In addition to getting individual skills, they learned skills and language for setting up safety plans with each other when they go out together.
We first worked with Kidpower after a couple of concerning incidents that left our teachers, aides, and family service workers concerned for their own safety. The Fullpower adult program helped our staff learn how to protect themselves from possible danger and how to de-escalate confrontations.
We are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace, but our employees sometimes worry about their safety arriving early or staying late. By organizing a Fullpower class for our employees, we were able to take positive action to address their concerns.
