In-Person Workshops: paused temporarily
Kidpower in-person workshops for all ages are paused for the pandemic and will resume when our advisors decide in-person workshops are safe for our teaching team as well as for those we serve.
Given the success of our online workshops, our online and hybrid services will continue even when in-person services return. The future of Kidpower includes online, hybrid, and in-person service models, and we are committed to ensuring each reflects the quality and effectiveness people worldwide have grown to count on from Kidpower.
The most popular in-person workshops provided in our 31 years of services reaching thousands each year prior to pausing in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic are listed below. When it’s safe, we will begin to resume these types of services – though we will update them to reflect the learning and development we’ve achieved during our pandemic-era work. We are confident that, when in-person services resume, they will reflect changes and improvements based on our ongoing work and learning.
Professional Development
Professionals learn how to incorporate Kidpower skills and methodology into their standard practices in educational, health, and social service agencies in order to foster positive social safety skill development. Workshops are coordinated by individual schools/agencies, for their own staff at their own site, and are tailored to the specific contexts of the participants, ranging from teachers to shelter staff to occupational therapists to camp counselors to coaches. Professional Development services have been one of our most popular online offerings – learn more at Train with Kidpower.

Comments from Workshop Organizers
By organizing the Teenpower class, we were able to make this experience happen not only for our daughter but also for so many of her friends. In addition to getting individual skills, they learned skills and language for setting up safety plans with each other when they go out together.
We first worked with Kidpower after a couple of concerning incidents that left our teachers, aides, and family service workers concerned for their own safety. The Fullpower adult program helped our staff learn how to protect themselves from possible danger and how to de-escalate confrontations.
We are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace, but our employees sometimes worry about their safety arriving early or staying late. By organizing a Fullpower class for our employees, we were able to take positive action to address their concerns.
