“I use Fullpower skills to help my clients, who are survivors of domestic and dating violence, gain the strength to stay out of unsafe relationships.”~ Sara, Shelter and Crisis Counseling Advocate

Thanks to generous donations from people like you, we are able to help people learn safe practices to stop domestic violence. This story from Sara shows how:

Healthy relationships require healthy boundaries and positive communication skills.

“Our community has a very high rate of domestic and dating violence. Despite all the counseling we provide, the women we work with often have trouble not going back to the person who abused them — or not repeating the same mistakes with someone else.

While looking online for answers, I found the incredibly helpful ‘Fullpower Relationship Safety Handbook.’ Since then, we’ve added practicing actual skills into our counseling sessions. Now my clients have become far better prepared to resist someone who is trying to emotionally pressure them into getting together again.

Practicing how to recognize different kinds of emotional attacks and physical threats, and how to de-escalate a confrontation, are among the many skills that have greatly increased their safety — and I am finding that these skills are also helpful for me personally, and for my family.”

Here are 2 powerful resources that people who are survivors of relationship violence — and their advocates — have found helpful:

Think of the suffering that can be prevented if everyone has these skills! Won’t you help us make sure we can make these skills available to everyone who needs them?
