A bequest in your will or naming Kidpower as a beneficiary on your accounts costs you nothing now, and ensures that your legacy prioritizes the protection of people from bullying, assault and abuse.
Two ways to include Kidpower in your planning
1. Make a bequest to Kidpower in your will or trust
You can name Kidpower in your will or trust. Here’s some sample language to use on your documents:
To support Kidpower’s general fund:
“I bequeath [specific dollar amount, percentage of my estate, or residual amount] to Kidpower, a nonprofit organization with federal tax ID 77-0226712.”
To name a specific program or population to support:
“I bequeath [specific dollar amount, percentage of my estate, or residual amount] to support services for [children, families, people with disabilities, etc] at Kidpower, a nonprofit organization with federal tax ID 77-0226712.”
2. Name Kidpower as a beneficiary
You can name Kidpower as a beneficiary on many different kinds of accounts:
– 401(k)
– retirement plan
– life insurance policy
Talk to the agent who handles your accounts about how to designate Kidpower as a beneficiary – and about the potential tax benefits!
