Empowering Vulnerable Kids and Women in Nepal

Kidpower International Director for Nepal Shusma Pokhrel and Vice President of the Board Krishna Prasad Khanal traveled for countless hours to remote parts of the country to teach safety and self-defense skills to over 1,000 students and their teachers.

These school children from rural municipalities face extreme poverty and are at high risk of abuse. The above video shows the joy and power of children and women in rural Nepal as they are learning how to take charge of their safety.

“I have been a teacher for 37 years, and today’s training made me realize for the first time the importance of Safety and Self Defense Skills. Many students are unsafe on their way to and from school. I believe that this training will definitely decrease these incidents. All students need to have access to Kidpower training in an ongoing way.”
