Help Stop Child Abuse - Teach Kids Safety Skills

Most child abuse, bullying, kidnapping, and other dangers can be prevented if children have strong "People Safety" skills. Join the Kidpower Skill-A-Day Challenge by starting to teach a Kidpower skill a day that can help to prevent child abuse. You can also participate by sending the Kidpower skills to people who have a child in their lives.

If you are on Facebook, please join our free online event, which lists all the skills, and share with your fans and friends.

Please become a fan of our Kidpower Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kidpower/60269356666?ref=s

All skills will be shown and illustrated on our blog at http://www.kidpower.org/blog/ and people can also email Count Me In to challenge@kidpower.org.

Most child abuse can be prevented and stopped without scaring children or overwhelming them with explicit details about all the bad things that might happen. The Kidpower method shows how to give children successful practice in setting clear and appropriate boundaries in everyday life in a way that is fun, successful, and effective. Children learn how to stop unwanted touch and teasing and how to be persistent until they get help.

"The Kidpower program stands out from other child abuse prevention programs due to a variety of factors including: content integrity, developmental and situational appropriateness, focus on skills and action, and efficiency and practicality. We are most impressed by Kidpower's ability to address effectively the fact that most abuse happens with people children know. Kidpower gives children, caregivers, and professionals working with children real skills that can prevent that abuse. We strongly endorse Kidpower programs for young people from all walks of life and, perhaps more importantly, Kidpower programs for parents and professionals working with young people."
