What a month! As September draws to a close, we are excited to report that the first International Child Protection Month has provided over 300,000 parents, teachers, coaches, and other caring adults with simple and effective actions they can take as leaders in protecting and promoting the safety and well-being of young people. And now, where do we go from here? First, please take 2 minutes to help us reach our goal of having 50,000 adults let us know that they have made the Kidpower Put Safety First Commitment.
The academic journal, Children and Youth Review, has published an independent research article this month documenting the effectiveness of the Kidpower program and also furthering the child protection field by providing important information for all prevention and intervention programs.
Both in football and in our society, if you break the rules, you should face consequences whether you know, understand, or agree with those rules or not. Hitting a small child so hard that he bleeds is illegal and it is sad that NFL star Adrian Peterson did not have safer tools for parenting his four-year-old son.
Little Pickle Press will donate to Kidpower 25% of any sales with the code: KidpowerSafe, as a fundraiser to help support our International Child Protection Advocacy campaign! We have been delighted and moved by the beautiful books published by Little Pickle Press – books that kids cherish and ask to be read or decide to read themselves again and again and again.
